A press-your-luck bomb game — bank points, but don't hold too long.
Each bomb banks points the longer you hold it — but every bomb has a hidden fuse. Let go before it blows and you keep the points; hold too long and that bomb pays nothing. You get three bombs to build the biggest score you dare.
Hold the button to bank points as they climb, then release to cash them in before the hidden fuse ends.
You're scored on total points banked across 3 bombs. Longer holds are worth more, but a bomb that explodes pays zero — so it's a balance of greed and safety. Most banked points wins.
When you play Hold the Hot One between rounds or in the Arcade, the computer players compete at the difficulty set for your match — from Rookie up to Ace. Easier bots make loose, mistimed plays you can beat with basic execution, while the hardest bots play tight and consistent, so you'll need clean hold to out-score them. In a live game it's the humans who usually decide the round, so a calm, practiced run is your edge.
Hold the Hot One is one of the quick minigames that fires between rounds of a RentRivals match — the whole table plays the same game at once, and the winner banks a $20 in-game bonus that can fund the next big purchase. You can also practice Hold the Hot One any time, solo against three CPUs, in the Minigame Arcade from the main menu — no board, no room, no stakes.
No — each bomb's fuse is hidden and varies, so it's genuinely press-your-luck. Bank a solid amount rather than squeezing out the last points.
Get a safe score on the first, then adjust: protect a lead by cashing early, or chase from behind by holding longer on the last bomb.
