An endless-runner sprint — jump the gaps and go the distance.
Your runner dashes across the rooftops automatically, and gaps between buildings appear ahead. You press to jump each gap, chaining leaps together to cover as much distance as possible before you fall or the round ends.
One button to JUMP — the on-screen button or space bar. The running is automatic; you only control the jumps.
You're scored on distance travelled (metres) before falling, within the round's time limit. Every gap cleared adds distance, so a clean run of well-timed jumps racks up the metres. Furthest wins.
When you play Rooftop Runner between rounds or in the Arcade, the computer players compete at the difficulty set for your match — from Rookie up to Ace. Easier bots make loose, mistimed plays you can beat with basic execution, while the hardest bots play tight and consistent, so you'll need clean timing to out-score them. In a live game it's the humans who usually decide the round, so a calm, practiced run is your edge.
Rooftop Runner is one of the quick minigames that fires between rounds of a RentRivals match — the whole table plays the same game at once, and the winner banks a $20 in-game bonus that can fund the next big purchase. You can also practice Rooftop Runner any time, solo against three CPUs, in the Minigame Arcade from the main menu — no board, no room, no stakes.
By distance — the metres you cover before falling. The more gaps you clear cleanly, the farther you go, so timing your jumps is everything.
At the very edge of the rooftop as the gap arrives. Early jumps fall short; edge-timed jumps clear the gap and keep your run alive.
