A fast falling-block puzzle where chains are everything.
Colored blocks fall in pairs into a grid. You steer and drop each pair, and when three or more blocks of the same color touch, they clear and score. Set up the board so one clear triggers another and the points stack up fast.
Arrows move the falling pair left and right, up rotates it, and down drops it faster. On touch, the on-screen arrow buttons do the same.
You have 24 seconds to score as many points as possible, and chains score big — clearing several groups from a single drop is worth far more than clearing them one at a time. Most points when time runs out wins.
When you play Demolition Day between rounds or in the Arcade, the computer players compete at the difficulty set for your match — from Rookie up to Ace. Easier bots make loose, mistimed plays you can beat with basic execution, while the hardest bots play tight and consistent, so you'll need clean puzzle to out-score them. In a live game it's the humans who usually decide the round, so a calm, practiced run is your edge.
Demolition Day is one of the quick minigames that fires between rounds of a RentRivals match — the whole table plays the same game at once, and the winner banks a $20 in-game bonus that can fund the next big purchase. You can also practice Demolition Day any time, solo against three CPUs, in the Minigame Arcade from the main menu — no board, no room, no stakes.
Chains — when one clear causes blocks to fall and trigger more clears. A single big chain can outscore a dozen individual matches.
24 seconds. It's one of the longer minigames, which rewards players who plan their board instead of dropping blocks randomly.
